Aerosimple Vigil Tip Line — SMS Privacy Notice
This notice describes how Aerosimple, Inc. ("Aerosimple," "we") handles personal information when you interact with the Aerosimple Vigil airport tip line by phone call or SMS. It applies only to the SMS follow-up workflow associated with each airport's published Vigil tip-line number (e.g., +1 906-767-6430).
What we collect. When you call a Vigil tip-line number we record the call recording and an automated transcript. If our system follows up by SMS, we also collect: the phone number you called from, the content of the SMS messages exchanged with you, and the timestamps of each message. We do not ask for, and you should not provide, sensitive personal data such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or health information.
How we use it. Information collected through the Vigil tip line is used solely to (a) capture the details of the safety, security, or operational concern you reported; (b) route those details to the operations or safety team of the airport whose tip-line number you called; and (c) maintain a tamper-evident audit log of the report as part of that airport's safety records. The SMS follow-up is limited to clarifying questions about a tip you initiated by calling the published number — we do not send promotional, marketing, or informational messages.
How consent works. Consent for SMS follow-up is established when you place a voluntary call to the Vigil tip-line number that is posted on airport signage and the airport's published website. The signage and website include the disclosure: "Calling this number may result in a follow-up SMS from the same number to clarify your tip. Reply STOP to end. SMS terms: [URL of this page]." The first outbound SMS we send identifies itself, restates the STOP instruction, and links back here.
Frequency. Message frequency varies. A typical Vigil interaction is two to five SMS messages following a single inbound call. We will not initiate a follow-up SMS more than 24 hours after the original call.
Opt-out and help. Reply STOP, STOPALL, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPTOUT at any time to end the conversation and prevent any further outbound SMS to your number. Reply HELP or INFO to receive a one-line description of the service and a link to this page. Standard message and data rates may apply, as charged by your wireless carrier.
Sharing. We do not sell, rent, license, or share your phone number, message content, or call recording with any third party for marketing, advertising, list-building, or analytics. We share the contents of your tip only with the operations and safety personnel of the airport whose tip-line number you called, and with our SMS and voice carriers (currently Twilio) solely to deliver the messages and calls. We may also disclose information when required by lawful order, subpoena, or in connection with a credible threat to life or safety.
Retention. Call recordings, transcripts, and SMS message content are retained for the period the airport's safety records-retention policy requires (typically 2–7 years depending on jurisdiction), after which they are deleted on a rolling basis. We retain phone numbers only as long as the underlying tip record is retained.
